Ella Spottedbird Lamebull

Ella Spottedbird-Lamebull
Cheyenne

Arellana (Ella) SpottedBird-Lamebull is a member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma and of Caddo descent. Her Cheyenne name is Sacred Sky Woman. She is the Direct descendant of Lamebull and wife, Bull Behind Woman, survivors of the Sand Creek Massacre. Lamebull was a member of the Dogsoldier war society who camped North of the massacre site. Ella is from Oklahoma and recently graduated from Anadarko High School. She has plans of pursuing her higher education in Native American Studies.

Ella is well-taught in the history of her tribe’s customs, ceremonies, and traditions, learning from her father, Greg Lamebull. She enjoys dancing in the arena as a Southern Cloth dancer and spends much of her time with her grandmother and grandfather attending several local dances and pow wows.

Her father has worked for several years with the Sand Creek Coalition and the National Park Service in efforts to teach and spread awareness of the Sand Creek Massacre and currently serves as Chair for the Sand Creek Massacre Foundation. She strives to follow in those footsteps and give her knowledge to the next generation.
